What is the primary use of Isolate It! Sorbothane Vibration Isolation Washers?

The Isolate It! Sorbothane Vibration Isolation Washers are primarily designed to reduce vibrations and noise produced by machinery, electronics, and appliances. These washers effectively absorb shock and mitigate the transmission of vibrations, enhancing the durability of equipment and providing a quieter operation. For example, when installed under a washing machine or air conditioner, they can reduce the noise significantly, making your home environment much more comfortable.

What materials are the Isolate It! washers made from?

These washers are made from high-quality Sorbothane, a viscoelastic material known for its shock-absorbing properties. Sorbothane is widely used in various industries due to its ability to dampen vibrations and provide excellent insulation. The 50 Duro rating ensures durability while maintaining flexibility, making them ideal for high-frequency vibrations like those generated by motors and heavy machinery.

What dimensions do the Isolate It! washers come in?

Each washer in the 12-pack has an inner diameter of .45 inches, an outer diameter of 1 inch, and a depth of .19 inches. These dimensions make them versatile for various applications, fitting comfortably under most household appliances and machinery. When you're looking to stabilize equipment or prevent damage from vibrations, these precise sizing details ensure a proper fit.

Can these washers be used for outdoor applications?

While the Isolate It! Sorbothane Washers are primarily designed for indoor use, they can be applied in certain outdoor settings, provided they are protected from direct sunlight and extreme weather conditions. For instance, if you're using machinery outdoors that generates significant vibrations, these washers can help mitigate noise, but be mindful of their long-term exposure to UV rays and moisture.

How do I install the vibration isolation washers?

Installation of the Isolate It! washers is straightforward. Simply place them under the equipment or appliances you wish to stabilize, ensuring they're aligned correctly with the mounting points. You may want to clean the surfaces first to ensure optimal adhesion. This simple installation allows you to quickly enhance vibration control without needing complex tools or procedures.

What are the advantages of using Sorbothane washers over traditional rubber washers?

Compared to traditional rubber washers, Sorbothane washers offer superior vibration isolation and noise reduction capabilities. They are more effective at absorbing high-frequency vibrations and provide longevity even under continuous stress. For example, in applications involving motors, the enhanced dampening properties of Sorbothane can significantly prolong the lifespan of the machinery while improving overall performance.

Can I use these washers for sensitive electronic equipment?

Absolutely! The Isolate It! Sorbothane Washers are particularly beneficial for sensitive electronic equipment because they prevent vibrations that can impede device functionality or cause premature wear. For instance, placing these washers under audio equipment or servers can keep them safe from shocks or vibrations that might lead to performance issues or damage.

Which applications benefit the most from using these vibration isolation washers?

Various applications benefit from the use of Isolate It! washers, including industrial machinery, HVAC systems, audio equipment, and even home appliances like refrigerators. For example, in a home theater setup, these washers can minimize the vibrations from speakers, ensuring clear sound quality without disturbances, while in HVAC units, they help reduce noise and enhance energy efficiency.

How many washers are included in each pack, and do I need to buy additional packs?

Each pack of Isolate It! washers contains 12 individual pieces. Depending on your application and how many items you are stabilizing, you may need one or more packs. For instance, if you are isolating multiple appliances or machinery setup, assessing the number of mounting points will help you determine if additional packs are necessary for complete coverage.
