Answer: Yes, I have mine hard-wired to a switch on the instrument panel over the nav station. I just switch it on before I use the shower. Adding a float switch on the drain tube between the shower sump and the pump may be possible. -

Can this pump be mounted outdoors?
Answer: Not recommended because the motor is not weather protected. -

Is this pump able to be mounted above the water level in the sump and will it suck the water down to the very bottom?
Answer: Yes, the 50880 series pump is a diaphragm pump that is self-priming to 10ft. -

Where can I get a fitting to go from the threads of the pump to a barb fitting?
Answer: The pump has 3/4" and 1" barb fittings installed. If you are looking for new fittings, please use service kit SK880. -
