For $200 monitors, why is the cable proprietary and not even balanced?
Answer: Having used both types of connectors extensively on past products, our internal data strongly shows that our proprietary 2mm connector is more reliable than MMCX in the long run (partly because it is not allowed to rotate in the socket), so as much as we would like to keep our products compatible with the wide range of accessories available for the MMCX standard, we decided to move away from MMCX for our PRO-series products where the focus is always on longevity and durability. The included stereo cable is not balanced because in-ear monitor transmitters, personal monitor mixers, and other equipment into which professional monitors are usually plugged in do not support balanced audio. Our older M7 PRO model, which uses MMCX connectors, is still available on our website, as are our Pinnacle series in-ears. We have an MMCX balanced cable available for those as well. -

I'm a beginner wanting to start mixing in a small home studio. are the mx1's good for this, or should i save for a more expensive model?
Answer: The MX1 Pro is a great start as a studio mixing IEM. The MX1’s sound profile is pretty much neutral, which is perfect when mixing. The great thing about our MX Pro line, is that you can upgrade to a higher model in future and still use the same accessories. -

Are the mx4 pros good for singers? I see lots of reviews for the Mx3’s being good for vocalists but wondering how the 4’s compare
Answer: The MX4's are designed for stage use and studio monitoring with high-fidelity reference characteristics. However, the MX3's are best for vocalists and guitarists focusing on crisp, focused midrange sound characteristics. -
Question:
Does anyone know if these are good under your motorcycle helmet, does it isolate outside noise well and give you good sound at the same time?
Answer: I would think it should work well for your needs. My wife snores VERY loudly. At bedtime, I can feel the bed vibrating as she snores, and I dont hear her at all. Pretty good should isolation. Also, I sometimes go to sleep with the earbuds still in, and they are comfortable as a lie on my side, so I would think they would fit under a helmet that's not too snug. -

Which of the 4 would be best for a bassist/vocalist?
Answer: A bassist might want triple drivers. A vocalist would probably do best with the dual drivers. If I were both and had to chose, I would probably go with the triple drivers based on the frequency profile that I reviewed when I purchased mine. I play guitar, so I went with the dual driver to get hotter mids. MEE has a chart on their web site you can review for sound profiles. It helped me make my decision. -

Is this good for side sleeping?
Answer: It depends on the shape and size of the user's ear, so the best way to know is to try it. Generally, more of our customers use the lower-profile M6 PRO model rather than this model for side sleeping and under helmets. -
Question:
Is there any kind of twist lock holding the cable to the ear-piece? Too often they come apart in a live performance.
Answer: This model has a unique non-rotating earpiece connector, unlike most detachable-cable in-ear monitors. When connecting the earpieces, make sure the notches on the connectors 'catch' and the cable goes in smoothly, and you should not have any problems with them coming loose. -

Can these be worn down?
Answer: I'm not sure what you mean, but the part that goes in the ear has seals that you can replace. I hope that is an answer. -
Question:
Would the mx3 work well for drummers?
Answer: I think it would depend on what you WANT to hear in your ears. I think an overall flatter response would be ideal for the drummer that wants to hear the entire band, but some drummers rather be the tempo and keep the low frequency link up with the bass as key (and have less guitars and vocals), which would be the M2. But our drummer HAS to hear the guitars because we play guitar-riffs-driven metal music (choppy and syncopated), probably more so than the bass so these two particular options wouldn't work for our guy. So I would say, if you're the drummer - who is it that you really need to hear more of in your IEM in order to sound the tightest on stage? -

How much ohms does it take to run these?
Answer: Ohms is a measure of resistance, so there is no specific ohms requirement from a device to run in-ear monitors. Generally speaking, one of the main advantages of in-ear monitors is that they get quite loud compared to full-size headphones, and power requirements is not normally something to worry about.
