There were some missing scenes that didn't show up in the action anime. Yusuke's character is more of a punk in the book, whereas in the anime, he is more likable. Keiko, Yusuke's childhood friend, is shown to be stronger in the book, and in the anime, she only slaps Yusuke. It is suggested to watch the complete four seasons series before reading the manga. The review also recommends comparing the DVD series to the manga. The Funimation version of the series is dubbed into English, and it is great for people who do not understand Japanese. The voice actors and actresses for every character in the Funimation version are terrific. The review gave Volume 1 of Yu Yu Hakusho five out of five stars, but the person liked the anime version better than the manga. Overall, this editorial review received mixed feedback from customers.
